Inverclyde Velo members participate in a variety of cycling activities including; road racing, time trials, Sportives and Audax. Whilst road competitive cycling remains a core value of our club, by far the most popular form of cycling amongst our members is cycling for pure pleasure, physical and mental well-being.
Formed in the 1980’s Inverclyde Velo is affiliated to British Cycling and Cycling Time Trials (CTT) which allows members to participate in cycling events throughout the country.

Based in Inverclyde, the club is well placed to offer the local community the chance to get involved and improve their fitness be that purely leisure or towards personal achievement in competitive cycling.
Inverclyde Velo would encourage all cyclist to join British Cycling to ensure they have some sort of 3rd party cover in the event of an accident.

Welcome to the new website!
It's been fun making it so far, and there are still some niggles needing ironed out but the website is otherwise functional.

If you have an account from the old forum, you will have one on here. You will however need to reset your password as those couldn't be transferred over.
The email for resetting your password will probably end up in your emails Junk folder, so check that if you don't see it in your inbox.

If you're really struggling, Feel free to text/whatsapp me or email me on @ and let me know your username and i'll get it sorted for you.
I know it's a bit of a pain having to reset your details, but once you're up and running hopefully we will have a much more interactive site that will allow us to advertise what we do to people who want to join the club or come along to our races.

Many thanks for your patience over the past few months whilst I get the site to a usable state.

INVERCLYDE Velo’s resident long distance rider Robert McCready, has set himself another gruelling schedule for 2018.

Since he started recording his yearly mileage in 2003, Robert has covered more than 170,000 miles -- almost seven times round the world.

As part of preparation for 2018 events, Robert is taking a slightly different approach to training. For additional motivation he is attempting to ride at least one 200km run per month for a full year. The new regime started in September and he is now on month five of the challenge.

Welcome to the swanky new Inverclyde Velo website!

The club decided that it was a good idea to have a slightly more up to date website where information was a little more accessible for everyone. This new website should hopefully allow us all to share what we're up to, wither it's going out on the Sunday club run or if you intend on doing some races wearing the club colours flying the Inverclyde Velo flag.

We're hoping that more people will find us online if they are interested in joining up and know how to get involved.
We're not an elite group who shun other who're not using the most up to date bikes or equipment. We're a club who just happen to all enjoy cycling and talking bikes. We welcome everyone interested in road cycling and road racing from all walks of life who are 18 and over. You can also be a member if you are 16 or 17 if a guardian joins you.

If you're considering joining the Velo please feel free to have a good look about and ask any questions you have. You can also have a look at any upcoming events that we are either hosting or participating in, come along and see us in person to get the vibe from the club.
